About Me
Sydney-sider, freelance software developer.
I'm into classical music, particularly late-romantic and impressionist compositions.
I'm as much affected by the orchestration and textures of a pieces as by the melody and harmony. For this reason I'm very fond of the orchestrations of Ravel, Debussy and Stravinsky.
And as far as conductors, Sergiu Celibidache is my all-time favorite. He brings out sounds that you never knew existed, and creates a clear, focussed sound that makes each instrument shine on its own.
Some favorite pieces:
Concerto in D Major for the Left Hand (Ravel)
Pictures at an Exhibition (Mussorgsky)
Bolero (Ravel)
Rhapsodie Espagnole (Ravel)
La Mer (Debussy)
Symphony No. 8 (Bruckner)
"You don't do anything, you let it evolve." - Celibidache
