Is the public library in Chicago no good? I just looked through the catalog, seemed like a pretty decent collection. I'm way more partial to sf myself, and horror. Fantasy I like but I find it hard to sift out the good stuff from the cookie-cutter. So outside of like.. Mervyn Peake, ER Eddison, Jack Vance and Rob Howard I'm pretty clueless. Basically my question is.. advice for good fantasy (modern or not) that's not Game of Thrones or whatever?

Well if I only read Stross, eventually I could catch up to him. But if you're anything like me you have a neverending list of books that you want to read that only gets longer and longer and that you never have any hope of completing (thankfully). Do you read much sci-fi?

diSEMBOWELMENT. Sorry to be a creeper, I just read over your introduction at the truly grimlies from about 10 years ago. Charles Stross is a great author, but he writes books faster than I can read them.

I'm sure you'll get to see Hammers of Misfortune one day, being in America, I'll be lucky to see Slough Feg one day nevermind Hammers of Misfortune ;_; Thanks for telling me about Christian Mistress btw, I liked them so much I got their CD :D BTW if you like viking/folk metal, check out Crimfall if you don't know them, they have some really good songs :)

Haha, no, actually, that's exactly what I was talking about! Makes a lot of sense, though... thanks for letting me know! Now I have a new way to nonproductively spend large amounts of time!

Yep. Metallurgy. It's cool. Everyone has their priorities and obviously my happiness isn't one of yours. How's that for guilt?
