The sledgehammer album is a vinyl rip, do you have a better version or do I have to be satisfied with the quality (which is alright but lacks of pressure)

Responding to why did they boo Reb. It's a football thing. Reb is from Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh and Cleveland hate each other.

In order to understand the AotW principle better I suggest you to check the follwing threads (these are my personal favorite AotWs): I loved both, although the Paul Chain album is possibly rather for the experienced Paul Chain listener, Bleak House are stunning as you have noticed, Bulbous Creation sound to me like an evil version of Cream and the best up to now: Chicken Shack, heavy blues rock with awesome riffs and drumming.

The premission is that the album you present should be as unknown to the fellow members as possible, e.g. I started the AotW with Roger the Engineer by Yardbirds which might be the exact opposite of obscure/rare/unknown!

Hey there, I see you dug in DIG... :) So, what do you think of the Tanna brothers?

Hey Grant, you have been an active member of Heavy Artillery before I kicked all members in order to reorganize it. Possibly you are interested in rejoining the group and participate in the ongoing discussion (you do not have to invest more time than you want to btw ;) ).

I remember reading an article where Steve Vai heard these guys and mentioned them to his then producer, who ended up producing DIG... you'll see Vai is in the credits (as is EVH, but I think only as an influence to Jagori Tanna)... S&F's least positive reviews are only cuz these reviewers consider "catchier/more commercial" as automatically worse, which is silly. S&F is one of my all-time favorite albums, both musically and production/mixing wise, best drum sound ever! Recorded at the same studio as Rush did all these years here in Quebec.... anyways, you be your own judge! ;)

Hi Grant, Thanks for your reply, its very interesting. As you may have noticed I dont use this website much (although I did play a track or two this morning) mainly because I find it too complicated and have given up with it. I am sorry that I dont recognise your writings but I am very impressed with your enthusiasm and knwledge. It to follow many bands not just Trespass, I went to see Deep Purple on Saturday night and Saxon the Sunday prior. I really dont want to bore you on Trespass so perhaps snippets here and there and I will answer any questions that I can ? I went to Sudbury Upper School where my Dad was also a teacher. One of my class mates was Vicky, Dave Crawtes (Bass) sister, she was one of the few people who, like me, followed rock music and she lent me many albums, most notably some early Quo, albums. I am not sure that Dave was lending me these ! One of the sources of albums and information was SteveGuy-Clarke who ran a record shop called Discassette; to be continued

About Me

As of 10/10/09, I've decided to make a conscious effort to reduce the amount of time I spend on this site. I will probably check in almost daily still and browse some of the group forums, and I intend to ocassionally add to my NWOBHM journals, but I have been spending too much time on this site which is a habit I have to change.
