the fact that you have andre 3000 immediately invalidates this list

Lol, the fact that you listen to Senses Fail, Atreyu, Blink-182, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Linkin Park and pretty much everything else on your list invalidates anything you have to say about music. Ever.

dude the fact that u actually went into my charts to pick out bad music artists invalidates anything u have to say. i have a section of music that my friends like that i play at parties. u think i actually like shit like senses fail and blink? fuck no. im a metalhead through and through.

and even more importantly, u listen to mostly indie, which completely invalidates anything u would ever have to say on any musical matter

    My dear friend Mr. themilkman87,

First, where does the anger come from? Why does one artist or type of music have to invalidate anything? Can't people just have different tastes? I can understand the fact that you may not appreciate the talent of Andre 3000 but please don't let that spoil your experience of the rest of the artists on this list (or any other for that matter).

Second, it distresses me that you call artists that appear amongst your most played shit. Three different bands in the Blink 182 family appear pretty high up in your charts and if I'm not mistaken you're going to see one of them in a few weeks. My point is this: trash talk other people's music if you will but remain true to yourself. Represent your favorite artists with pride as the eighty six themilkmen that came before you would want.

If nothing else I appreciate the passion that you have for music and that you looked at my list in the first place. Thank you.

LOL, there are several things wrong with your post. First, 'indie' isn't a genre (not that most of the music on my chart is 'indie' anyway, its mostly pop, hip-hop and rock). Second, I doubt that you played these bands so much at parties that they just happened to show up on your charts. Grow some balls and stand up for music you like. Third, metal isn't any better than blink-182. But wait, thats not all! You then go on and insulted me for picking apart your charts but then go ahead and pick mine apart. Hypocritical much? I thought so.

The fact that you are ignorant enough to call a list shitty because it has a rap artist on it makes you an ignorant prick. Please don't pick apart other people's musical taste unless you can stand up for your own.

lets sort some shit out. my original post was meant to be a joke, probably should have appended it with a lol or :) but whatever. second, i picked apart ur charts on purpose to show the ignorance of ur comment. just cuz ur charts have some indie doesnt mean thats what u like. i have no idea the exact shit u like. all i see r the charts which everyone knows dont completely reflect taste. And I am aware indie is not a genre. its a classification of certain music artists. doesnt change the fact that I think indie is shit. except the national, for some reason I like them and I dont know why :)

third, in regards to the concert. one of my best friends loves blink and +44 and AVA etc. hes going to see them in worcester and had no one to go with. hes paying for me to go so who the fuck cares. i dont like AVA, but I like my friend so i'm doing him a favor.

next, ulberry, i do infact play those artists at parties so much that they appear high on my charts. i lived with 5 friends this summer in a house and they all love senses fail, blink, post-hardcore, etc shit like that. we used my fuckin laptop to play music the ENTIRE summer. thats 90 DAYS of shitty alternative music. look at my rolling charts for last six months and u will see a difference. and i will say there is one week where i played a shitload of alternative crap cuz i forgot to turn my comp off shuffle at the end of a party earlier this year.

Lastly, I have to say, I am not so elitist that I think anything other than metal is crap. I do, however, think a lot of metal is better than blink, no questions asked.

Oh, okay, since you put it *that* way I totally understand what you were trying to say! So it was a joke when you said that Andre 3000 sucks- now I get it! I see the light!

Except not really. The fact that you listen to metal doesn't impress me. I don't care if you think my music sucks. I'm just commenting on the fact that there is no point in posting that this list sucks because you think anything other than metal sucks- that is all.

i dont expect my propensity for metal to impress u obviously cuz u dont like metal. and dont categorize me as someone who thinks everything other than metal sucks. i listen to mostly metal, this is true, but i can at least appreciate other decent forms of music. I just choose not to listen to them. im sure u can appreciate the artistic aspect of metal but it doesnt appeal to u. and andree 3000 has no artistic aspect so lets leave him out of this.

No, really, some metal is very technical stuff that is difficult to play and I admire that. However, writing lyrics can be just as hard as playing a guitar- listen to some decent rap and you'll know what I mean.

i definitely agree there is some very decent rap out there. I've listen to a bunch of underground rap in the past and I can definitely appreciate that. what draws me to metal is this - they can play with great proficiency and at the same time they write and sing lyrics extremely well too
