Holy crap, there was an honest to goodness thrash beat! That was unexpected.

And an actual sense of purpose as well. That's more what I wanted, after all.

Scientific Obscurantism is something of a return to form. There are actual riffs again!

Oh, one other complaint, I feel as though he puts a lot of time into the various percussion, whether it be ethnic or a more traditional sounding drum kit (machine), but not enough time into the riffs. All the percussion lately is really intricate, yet sometimes its little more than a few chords over it.

Hmm, it seems three more albums are planned. The covers are quite nice, at least.

Yeah, unfortunately I feel like he reached his peak in 2009-2010. 2011 started strong, but the later albums were rather half baked, and this year hasn't gripped me much yet. I worry a bit that he's running low on ideas after so many albums. Though really I'd even appreciate a throwback to earlier material. And heavier production; his guitars sound too washed out lately and the lack of a real bass guitar is showing too much. The Книги Вознесения I EP was awesome because of that really thick, almost Godflesh-esque sound.

Lately it feels a lot like Senmuth is phoning it in when it comes to attempts at metal riffs. Do you get that sort of impression at all? I know he's capable of much more than some of the work he's put out on his more metal oriented albums lately.

Two more Senmuth releases planned, it seems. Bar-Do Thos-Grol and Monument 6.
