Thank you for the comment, you have an excellent profile, I do agree with the points you make about the cookie cutter mainstream garbage. Hopefully I can find more new music in your library which will further enhance my musical taste. Thanks agian .

Check out "Ain't Yours" from the Suite Chic album. I'm guessing it may be similar in some way to that. While we're at it, here's a collabo song that she did with HEARTSDALES as Suite Chic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv8MN-CdgDA Nasty nasty! Uh Uh... with AI: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzOWMGfpMXM Do or Die (a collabo with JHETT in 2005): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQydmZrctbc and this one too cause it's also hot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC-jvAa3c1E Namie is a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of celeb moms that use their kids as a tool for publicity. Seriously selling baby pictures on Ebay? Just ugh. She got pissed when a magazine took pics of her going to a conbini with her son for shopping (like your local 7/11), 'cause she doesn't, in her words, want to have her private life on display to the public so she sued. I think she's smart for keeping her kid out of all of that; no psychological damage and such. Okay, ttyl, and hope you like what you hear of Muse.

HEART STATION is either love it or hate it at first I guess. It's def more poppy than Ultra Blue. ROCK STEADY and WILD? God, tell me, could there be a more perfect mix? And it has jazz swing elements... I'm so excited and I'll definitely hold out for this. ;'( Madonna's camel toe is disgusting, lol. I don't mind people being sexual at any age (except if they're like 10 cuz uh) but you need to keep it classy. Like Namie. She makes HUMPING look classy. How?!? I am still trying to figure that out. And forreal? I'll go for it and tell you to check them out. You've ever heard Bliss or Time Is Running Out? How about Supermassive Black Hole? I'm surprised you haven't if so. In my opinion, their newer album is missing something... you've just gotta try their first 3 albums first.

I may be the same way. If something doesn't click with me because of the genre, I don't automatically label it as bad. Though with Namie that doesn't apply to me because with what doesn't automatically click with me immediately at first is always a grower. :) Her voice makes any song greater for me... *lol* With what you said about Wishing on The Same Star, I think that maybe it's her voice that also makes it pleasant to listen to? I forgot, but what have you listened to from her in all? For ballads, I think you should try "I WILL' and "exist for you", you'll probably like those a lot. They're beeeeeatiful.

I have chosen not to hear The Meaning of Us and FAST CAR until I get my copy of the album. I don't know how it is with other people but when you listen to 6 songs out of 12 on an album, doesn't it ruin the experience a bit of the songs being new to you when you buy it? That's why I've only listened to COPY THAT and MY LOVE and just abstained from anything else. I think I can make it. Namie has a lot of pop fans, and I think the fact that she chooses to experiment with her music a lot makes them uncomfortable or something. I don't know... I much prefer Namie's experimentation with music than Madonna's, personally. "Hard Candy" did grow on me eventually, though nothing can beat her older stuff.

NEW LOOK and ROCK STEADY were the songs that drove me on the edge to finally learning just what Namie Amuro is about. I remember when I first heard NEW LOOK, I could not get it out of my head! Haha. And ROCK STEADY just became so awesome with the video. I agree with you about the music. It's great how many styles she can pull off. Image-wise, I think "cool" fits her best. Like her urban image in SO CRAZY and Put 'Em Up, I just adore them. She exudes attitude and she just has the look where she can pull it off. Of course, WILD and WHAT A FEELING look just as stunning. And ROCK STEADY is just so cool and chic. I *LOVE* horns and trumpets in CSCEIS, FUNKY TOW, Hide & Seek... but we seem to be in the minority with that? I don't know what it is. I always kinda thought that what clicks with me may not click with the majority for some reason. Like, with Muse's album Supermassive Black Hole, Knights of Cydonia seemed to be the most popular, but I would hardly listen to it at all.

SO CRAZY is one of my favorite Namie songs/videos, hands-down! As for Hide & Seek, it wasn't on there 'cause it was a singles collection. :) I'm glad you like it, you should really listen to her studio albums as well. Ah, it seems like just yesterday that I was excited for BEST FICTION and now I'm going to be so excited for PAST<FUTURE. It's refreshing to talk to someone about this that isn't like "omg it sucks" or something like that because she's mainstream, or, "Why can't she stick to one style omg! *bitches*" So many people think that just because they don't like a song, it's shit or something, without even explaining why. Coincidentally, these are the same people that find songs like COPY THAT and NEW LOOK soooo brilliant. Basically the cuter and poppier stuff. I love them of course, but what makes them so much better than WILD or Dr.? :( I love it when she's more experimental with her styles.

You know what? I gave up counting. lol. So, man... I forgot what I last talked to you about. I see you've only scrobbled a few songs from BEST FICTION, but that can't be true! D: Surely you've heard more? Or you SHOULD hear more! Haha.

Yes, I saw it. At first I thought I was going to cry throughout the whole movie but I smiled like an idiot and sang along lol. But I did get teary when he sang Earth Song in This Is It. It was so perfect... When I think about, I still can't believe he's dead. I feel that he's still here and I try to hold on to any hope such as the theory of his death being a hoax.

Music At A Glance

I have a terribly eclectic music taste, spanning from to to . Essentially I like music which has one or more of the following:

  • Upbeat melodies which linger in the mind.
  • The individualistic, youthful aesthetic of 90s rock and pop.
  • Mellow, introspective vibes.
  • Complex, multi-layered compositions.
  • "Better-than-studio" live performances.
  • Dissonance.
  • Creative, memorable lyrics.
  • Songs which are good fun to listen to.

I do not approve of those mainstream artists who abuse popular culture and prevailing fad mentalities in the aim of gaining The Fame, though I recognise their success in achieving their goals. My issue with these hit-makers is the calculated, non-authentic story and sound behind their music.

Super-eclectic score: 837/1000 (?)
