Haha! I do that all the time! Sometimes, though, if I think I'll look too stalker-like, I sign out and then go around reading the other side of the conversation. Now, that I think about it, though, that's even creepier because I'm sneaking around invisibly. :) How are ya, anyway?

About Me

there is only one me :)

My short and long tail are:

i Flickr

Totally obsessed with New Order. They could fart their tunes through a euphonium and i would still listen to it and love it. All my musical meanderings lead me back to them. If you should ever see another band as my all time most played, you know a major catastrophe has happened. If a movie version of 'The Bridge' (by Ian Banks - no M.) is ever made, 'Everything's Gone Green' should be the theme song (even if the theme of the book is kinda red...) - just my opinion :)

Also love a lot of 80's, preferably British, pop. Tears for Fears are my second favourite obsession.

In recent years, i have refound my love for live music and try to see as many bands as i can (when the ticket prices are not totally redonkulous).

Acts i have seen live in no particular order - i'm old and sometimes cannot remember what i did last weekend let alone anything else in the last 30 years.

Most 70's Aussie acts like Sherbet, Ted Mulry Gang, Dragon, Skyhooks, Sports, Richard Clapton, Mental as Anything

AC/DC, Split Enz, Little River Band, INXS, Icehouse (as both Flowers & Icehouse), Midnight Oil - before they were famous. Ask me about the night i bumped into Peter Garrett when i was 16 - he is now my local member of parliament! (His political career is in no way related to our brief 'meeting' in 1977!)

70's & 80s: Supertramp, Foreigner (Cold Chisel played support), Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (twice), Graham Parker and the Rumour (twice), The Ramones (1980 - i'll never forget that!), Fleetwood Mac - they were crap! So disappointed, Elton John (twice), ELO (the 90's version without Jeff Lynne), REM (also crap), John Cooper Clarke (OK, not music but bloody brilliant), The Church, Go-Betweens, Paul Kelly, The Monkees (an 80's make some money for our retirement reunion tour)

90's and beyond:
1991 - Big Audio Dynamite @ Shellharbour Workers Club
1992 - Prince @ Sydney EnterCentre - I managed to sleep through most of the show thanks to a massive hangover!
2002 - New Order @ Hordern Pavillion
Turin Brakes, The Panics, BrightEyes, Presets, Eskimo Joe, Cut Copy, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, Doves, Damien Rice, The Shins, Editors - @ the Metro Theatre
Eddie Izzard, Interpol, Eskimo Joe @ the Enmore Theatre
Snow Patrol, Keane, The Dears, The Veils @ The Gaelic Club
The Veils, Grand National @ The Oxford Arts Factory
The Panics, Faker, Augie March, Darren Hanlon @ @Newtown
Eskimo Joe @ Blacktown RSL
Eskimo Joe @ The Roxy Theatre

29/01/2005 - Wave Aid - a concert to raise money towards the relief effort after the tsunami in December 2004 - • MIDNIGHT OIL • POWDERFINGER • SILVERCHAIR • JOHN BUTLER TRIO • THE WRIGHTS • THE FINN BROTHERS • NICK CAVE • PETE MURRAY • KASEY CHAMBERS • MISSY HIGGINS • THE WAIFS
31/03/2007 - V-Festival - Pet Shop Boys were 2007 drawcard and also saw Jarvis Cocker, Beck, New York Dolls, Phoenix & Softlightes and some Pixies but i'm not a big fan of their music.
22/04/2007 - Rockin' for your Rights - a protest against unfair industrial relations laws - BEASTS OF BOURBON, DALLAS CRANE, DENI HINES, KEV CARMODY, HOODOO GURUS, MAGIC DIRT, MARK SEYMOUR, MISSY HIGGINS, RICHARD CLAPTON, SOMETHING FOR KATE, THE HERD, THE SCREAMING JETS, THE WHITLAMS, YOU AM I, YOUTH GROUP
18/09/2007 - Steely Dan @ Sydney EnterCentre (I won the tickets in a radio contest!! Was so happy to get the chance to see them!)
29/03/2008 V-Festival - Duran Duran were killer act for me. Also saw QOTSA, Modest Mouse, Hot Hot Heat, Jesus & Mary Chain, a little bit of Smashing Pumpkins who were uninspiring.
06/06/2008 - Grand National @ Oxford Arts Factory
23/06/2008 - Faker @ The Basement
04/08/2008 - Cold War Kids @ Enmore Theatre
21/08/2008 - Paul Weller @ Enmore Theatre
28/01/2009 - Glen Hansard, Marketa Irglova & The Frames @ Sydney Opera House
11/03/2009 - Coldplay @ Acer Arena
14/03/2009 - Sound Relief - a concert to raise money for the victims of the Victorian bushfires and Queensland floods - Coldplay, Wolfmother, Hoodoo Gurus, Little Birdy, Architecture In Helsinki, You Am I, Josh Pyke, Marcia Hines, Taylor Swift, Eskimo Joe, Jet, The Presets, Icehouse, Barry Gibb & Olivia Newton John
28/03/2009 V-Festival - Elbow, Madness, Kaiser Chiefs, The Human League, Snow Patrol & The Killers
02/04/2009 - Sherlock's Daughter, The Seabellies & The Temper Trap @ The Annandale Hotel
18/04/2009 - The Ivys & Keane @ The Metro Theatre (effing awesome!)
07/05/2009 - The Seabellies & Okkervil River @ The Annandale Hotel (insanely fabulous)
30/07/2009 - Eskimo Joe & Bob Evans @ The Hordern Pavillion

OMFG! I have a ticket to see Tears for Fears and Spandau Ballet on April 23rd 2010. Woohoo!

Life without music is like, um, death!
