Visual Kei (ヴィジュアル系) refers to a movement among Japanese musicians, that is characterized by the use of eccentric, sometimes flamboyant looks. The reason I hate punk is because it's about aesthetics not music. [2] Seriously people, why do you come hear complaining that the bands care more about their looks than music... when the entire point of it is dressing up and using make up? It is called VISUAL kei for a reason.

Meh. There are some great bands within the genre. I can't say I particularily care for it much myself, except X Japan. But why diss an entire genre because some of the bands in it are bad? And no, it's not musical genre per se. It's more of a movement or style. But does it matter? No.
