Troll metal

It is debatable whether troll metal could be considered a real heavy metal sub-genre or not, but the term is most often used in a comedic manner. Troll metal itself, however, is a deviation of the already obscure folk metal and black metal sub-genres of heavy metal, with lyrical and thematic emphasis on trolls, mythical creatures from Finnish folk-tales that are based on the giants from Norse mythology.
