I don't understand why people who consider themselves "true punks" feel the need to hate on ska. (I presume that's why they're on this tag) It may not be to someone's personal taste, but when there's a ton of music out there which has no effort at all behind it (or even promotes racism/bigotry/abuses of authority which the punk movement claims to be against), it seems strange that ska would be the genre targeted.
