“Seen live” is used by Last.fm users to mark bands (or tracks) they have seen performed live. Users can view everything they tagged with a specific tag in their library.

Subscribers used to be able to listen to a radio station of their personal tags, allowing them to listen to a station comprising only artists they’ve seen perform ‘in flesh and blood’. However this service was discontinued in November 2010.

Although this tag has nothing to do with the musical genre of artists, it is considered unusual to tag composers (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, etc.) because they are neither performers nor alive.

    I actually like this tag because I use it to listen to the radio, there is such a huge variety. It's great when I want to discover new artists or I don't feel like listening to one genre in particular.

    If there was a possibility to mark a band here on Last.FM as seen live, there would be no need to misusing this tag. But as long as this feature does not exist, I proudly tag bands I have seen live.
