Neocrust

Neocrust is an umbrella term used to describe the fusion of crust punk with epic elements of other metal and punk genres such as screamo, melodic death metal, sludge, post-metal, and post-hardcore. Sometimes even incorporating classical instruments into the sound, such as violins, cellos etc. Neocrust became particularly popular in the modern punk scene through bands such as His Hero Is Gone, From Ashes Rise, and Tragedy. "If you don't like Neocrust, it's because you're sheep". Genius fucking logic there, DeoDeath... Please head back over to Pitchfork and scoff at people's musical preferences there. No one else wants to hear your shallow hipster posturing about how TRVE you are because you like the "right" music... In this case, probably a bunch of flavor-of-the-month, ex-Post-Hardcore-gone-Crust bands classified as "Neocrust". It's okay that not everyone likes the same trendy music as you (and, my god, is "Neocrust" ever trendy!).

Neocrust is a reaction to the ethos of crust, while musically, it follows the same roots. If you think it's dumb, don't listen to it because you don't get it. You're a sheep and neocrust isn't for you.
