Also, even if "indie" and "pop" were meant to be taken literally, then it still wouldn't be an oxymoron. Radiohead are technically independant and are still popular, just as many other bands are.

hypermode: Not really, considering that the term "indie" is moving farther and farther away from "independent". Just as "pop" has moved away from "popular". They both describe a type of sound, not independency or popularity.
