Groove metal

Groove metal, often associated with neo-thrash metal/post-thrash metal and power groove, is a term sometimes used to describe a derivative of thrash metal, which took influence from hardcore punk and traditional metal. Groove metal bands tend to play mid-tempo thrash riffs focusing on heaviness and groovy syncopation. The sub genre took its current form during the early 1990s, developed by bands including Exhorder, Pantera, Sepultura, White Zombie, Overkill, and Machine Head. MH's* supercharger was awful and yes it is nu metal (apart from buldozer). The Burning Red for all its critics and flaws is still, for the majority, groove metal. (If I'm still not making sense, well, blow me)
