Dirty south

Southern hip-hop, also referred to as dirty south, is a form of American hip-hop music that emerged from a late-1990s club-oriented vibe in southern U.S. cities, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Nashville, Atlanta, Memphis, Birmingham, Alabama, New Orleans, Miami, and Baton Rouge. The music was a reaction to the 1980s flow of hip hop culture from New York City and California, and can be considered a third major American hip hop genre, after East Coast hip-hop and West Coast hip-hop. Overall South >>>> Old East Coast > New West Coast > Old West Coast > Midwest >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> New East Coast. Only like a handful of decent NY rappers in the scene now.

Dirty south music is nothing that special but it's fun [2] I don't think anyone's trying to act like these rappers are making revolutionary masterpieces. Just let people enjoy their music and stop taking shit so seriously.

@jhianderg and JonRobson91 Personally, I believe most rap is just terrible (excluding a handful of artists), not because they're rappers, but because most of them have the mental acuity of a sewer rat, and the fans to back them up. Southern rappers are by far the worst in this case. I'm not the kind of person to hate a genre, but when nearly every artist sucks it ruins my views on the genre, modern rap itself does an amazing job at this by turning talentless people such as Lil' Wayne and Drake into superstars, with idiots that eat their "music" right up. I'm most likely going to get flamed by haters, so come at me bro.

yeah well anyone who listens to music solely based on its production is an idiot. your opinion on southern rap is probably based on the mainstream bullshit that comes out of there. i don't see much point in wasting my time with someone who listens to whiney indie pop like band of horses, and best coast. Pull that dildo out your ass, and do a little research before denouncing something you know nothing about.
