Darkwave

Dark Wave, also written as darkwave, is an umbrella term which refers to a movement that began in the late 1970s, coinciding with the popularity of New Wave and Post-punk music. Building upon the basic principles of those musical movements, dark wave evolved through the addition of dark, thoughtful lyrics and an undertone of sorrow. First darkwave band? I would say it was more like a group of bands, it kind of came about the same time as "Goth" did and built itself up from there. I don't think it really matters who was the first band really. It matters whether you have the synth intact, the deep vocals (or heavenly ethereal voices if preferred) and interesting multi-layered music that doesn't sit in one place: it's constantly exploring depth, emotion and beauty, with dark twists here and there of course! I prefer Dark Wave with a drum machine too, but it doesn't necessarily need one

Music of the Lyica 's been one the darkest sound I ve ever heard...just listen to The morning breaks so cold and grey ...you ll get the point..besides the band members have their own solo recordings which are more personal , they are : Mike vanportfleet ...he s got one album called " beyond the horizon line " tagged ( dark and trippy ) ..tara vanflower concentrating on more gothical point of view and David galas ....not as innovative as two others but thoughtful, deep and dark
