    tropical basically encompasses all of those surf genres. i think its also another way of saying surf-rock/pop revival. the modern replica of those genres is slightly different sounding anyway, with all that extra reverb and ambiance etc.

    So, really? Or are we gonna go back to Surf? I like Tropical, but I also like Surf (as in: Surf Pop = Beach Boys, or, recently, some Panda Bear stuff; Surf Rock = e.g., Beaches; Surf = Ducktails, etc. - more chilled stuff). I think I prefer the latter: do we really need a whole new "genre" when another already suffices?
