Stupid is the shoutbox on here. Someone felt like this "type" of electronic music needed a genre, so they made a genre. Given that a lot of people would look like they are having seizures trying to dance to it, I would guess IDM is meant to be ironic. I don't KNOW though because it really doesn't matter at all. If they called it faggy retard spaz music, I would be typing that into the search box instead, but still would not care a bit. BTW, caring about the name of a genre is really childish and dumb.
