Skid Row didn't wear makeup. Guns & Roses didn't wear makeup. Poison and the Crue only did in the begining. Niether did Warrant. KISS started the whole Makeup thing and it took them to stardom. I mean, that this was a style of 80s but not for all bands. In this time make-up, costumes and other things were normal ;) Look on Judas Priest - Rob Halford wasn't wearing make-up, high heeled boots and other things that you call 'gay', in 80s but he IS a gay.
