To be fair, a lot of Tom Waits's music is heavily influenced by blues. I can understand him being on this list, but definately not in the top artists. Same goes for Eric Clapton. If you look at any tag on Last.fm, you'll find a shit ton of artists who don't belong there, and there's not really anything anyone can do.

Tom Waits has not only a very bluesy voice but very bluesy music. The blues is such a vague concept. I mean a hard core delta listener probably wouldn't want to consider Albert King blues. It's a matter of perspective. So get over it and enjoy the music with roots.
