  • Good music
  • @LiamRandolph Last time I checked nobody in the 1950s was nostalgic for the 1930s (actually, 1950s was perhaps the decade with least nostalgia of all...."new is better" was the thinking at the time).
  • I don't think I'll ever feel nostalgic for the 2000s. I still have nightmares about the decade.
  • @roxystaufenberg And you'll be saying the same exact thing about the 10s in the 20s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosy_retrospection
  • I really miss these years, it's so MUCH better than nowadays...
  • It's been 5 years, and I'm still finding awesome albums/bands from the 00s. Such a great decade.
  • You have to search on your own, for the good music. Don't let the radio do it for you. [7] The year of my birth... I born several decades too late.
  • ok ok
  • lol 2000s
  • Journey? [3] I didn't know they were so popular during 00s.
  • Journey? [2]
  • To be honest, I already miss the early 00s... [6]

  • its the year 20000
  • нулевые )

  • beyoncé
  • the styles and genres are different but if you take a closer look at popular music in all our genres there's always a cyclical template that remains basically the same
  • 15 years from now all we'll remember is the good stuff. ringtone-culture fucked the industry up. only a handful of good rappers are producing good albums these days. its all crappy watery ringtone music....Drake u piece of crap:) also since the late 00s its been in another dance phase which happens every several years. its generational. we're entering the peak of the current electro-era which i think will end in another teen pop phase as it usually does. then kids will grow out of teen pop and introsective pop-rock singer-songwriters will take over pop music...again. then after there's no more real electro-influenced stuff on top 40 radio, it'll come back and the next generation will start the cycle over again
  • since 2006 music went shitty and only some of old artists still keep quality.Sad thing, because now we have pitbull,D.guetta, bieber, who are really not from music world. Also it was first decade without F.Mercury:(
  • I guess music is like wine, gets better as it grows older. As time passes more and more albums will be considered masterpieces while people trash the present music. Disco used to be considered crap (becuse like what happened to 'emo', tons of music that little had to do with real disco started to be released till people grew fed up), and now is like all that 80s music is being defended.

  • indie pop was probably the worst thing about this decade... sadly 10s is continuing this terrible fad
  • "Music HAS gone to the shitter in the past few years. " What? There will always be good music, whatever they say.
  • @Lukarox What the fuck does that shithole have anything to do with this? Im not trolling, if that's what your suggesting. This tag is terrible and does a horrible job at portraying the music of the 00's. 90% of these artists are generic pitchfork trash while the remaining 10% are actually relevant artists of the decade.
  • v you need to fuck off to 4chan
  • The 00's used to be my favorite decade for music but then i saw this tag... Holy shit...Those annoying kids in the led zeppelin shirts were right. Music HAS gone to the shitter in the past few years.
  • I just realized that everybody needs to shut up about the quality of the music of the 00's, as there have been, maybe more than ever, many absolute great musicians this decade. Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Interpol, Modest Mouse (TM&A!!), Okkervil River, The White Stripes and more, these are just the bands I listen too, as there are also acclaimed bands I'm not mentioning (Strokes, National, Spoon). I think the only thing holding this decade back is the lack of a monumental band such as the Stones, Beatles and Zeppelin, which the other decades did have, but I actually think the number great bands is bigger than most other decades..[3]
  • I'm shocked that the White Stripes aren't up there. Their awesomeness almost oozes out the speakers.

  • The antlers?

  • hopefully in a few decades we'll look back and see some great bands here that we picked out of the woodwork, past the terrible pop artists. just like what we have done with the 60s and 70s.
  • HARDCORE SUPERSTAR. YES.
  • Not bad at all. Granted, there was a lot of shit, but you have to remember EVERY decade has had shit. Even the 60s and 70s. We've just kind of forgotten about it over time. Some of my favorite music came out in the 00s.
  • just here for Strokes
  • you can also try this radio station which scrobbles live: [user]absoluterad00s[/user] (Absolute Radio 00s from UK)
  • ok put your hands up
  • @rederoin: Continuing your list: The Knife, dredg, porcupine tree, fever ray, godspeed you! black emperor, oceansize, the radio dept., brand new, silversun pickups, coheed and cambria, clann zú, 65daysofstatic, yndi halda........ as he said, just avoid the radio. I'm doing just fine without it.
  • born in 89, i'm certainly a modernist when it comes to music : my library goes no further back than the 90s, the oldest tunes being [tag]tracker[/tag] modules by [artist]Sidewinder[/artist]...being grounded in [tag]electronica[/tag] for the most part, i've always enjoyed to observe its evolution...
  • Just avoid the radio. Is it that hard? I mean, the 2000's had some great music. [only counting bands who relleased albums in 2000-2010] SOAD, BTBAM, Edguy, HSB, PTH, Stratovorius, Hammerfall, Artcurus, Alestorm, Pain, Amon Amarth, The Human Abstract, The Ocean, Ayreon, Ambeon, Star one, Deathstars, Rise Against, Turisas, Tool, Borknagar, Wintersun, Heidevolk, The mars volta, Devin Townsend, Devin Townsend Project, Symphony X, Deadlock, DEP, Saturnalia(prog metal), Foo Fighters, Finntroll, Epica.
  • You have to search on your own, for the good music. Don't let the radio do it for you.
  • The 2000s gave us good music from Nickelback, Eminem, Alter Bridge, Linkin Park, Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, 3 Doors Down, Avril Lavigne, Lifehouse, Evanescence, Avenged Sevenfold, Velvet Revolver, Kings of Leon, The Killers, The White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Pink, Christina Aguilera, 50 Cent, Paramore and so much more. It wasn't all that bad.
  • I have a feeling the 10's(of 2000) are going to be even better. With bands like The ocean, BTBAM, PTH etc..
