Head on over the the Bloodshot Records catalog page to preview upcoming releases from a few of our newest family members:

OUT FEBRUARY 21, 2006:
The Deadstring Brothers, 'Starving Winter Report'

Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, The Deadstring Brothers are forging their own imprint far removed from anything remotely close to what we've been conditioned to expect from the Motor City. While their hometown counterparts follow Iggy Pop's footsteps so closely they're practically ripping the skin off his heels, The Deadstring Brothers style embraces a sound from somewhere far beyond the Michigan County line. Sharp, nicotine-tinged odes teeter on the right amount of nostalgic spirit, sentiment and rock and roll, hearkening to a time well before we felt compelled to add classic to it.

The Deadstring Brothers have toured just about every pocket in the UK and have tackled the Midwest scene here in the states, sharing bills with big wigs like the Sadies, My Morning Jacket, Cat Power, Jesse Sykes, and Drive By Truckers

The Replacements reinvented the Stones in the late 1980s, and the countless bands have worshiped at the shrine of St. Gram, but no one has combined the Stones' bluster and energy with Gram's cracked, world-weary heartbreak quite as well as the Deadstring Brothers. It's loud, loose, ragged and not far removed from a stomping, beer-swilling masterpiece. --Paste, February 2006

OUT MARCH 14, 2006:
Cordero, 'En este momento'

Sample the upcoming release here!

Cordero's submission of the song Close Your House Down to Bloodshot Records 10 Year anniversary compilation CD, For A Decade of Sin so floored us that we gathered them up and begged to release their next album. A new version of the song appears on 'En este momento'.

This Brooklyn-based quintet is equally at home amongst the New York art rock scene or the vibrant Rock en Espanol movement, pegging both with heaping amounts of sassy spontaneity and sexy Latin stylings; the latter giving Cordero's sound and aesthetic nothing less than an undeniable romantic flair. Throw in their gutsy sensibilities and hold it all together with Ani Cordero's gatekeeper presence, and you've got a dead-sexy rock band that can set the scene for a golden desert sunset or a lusty encounter with a complete stranger.

Mixing the open atmospherics of the Southwest with the gritty feel of the Brooklyn art scene, the bilingual Ani Cordero, who has worked with Calexico and Giant Sand and her band make guitar rock that gives urban brashness some borderland mystery. -- The New York Times
