    Hillsong Conference Europe 2010 : “Let the healing begin”
    Amazing Grace….. going to the Hillsong Conference without letting everyone know that it also resulted in something personal should be shameful, really, to God be all the Glory for what He has done for me during the conference! Let me begin by saying that I went with all my heart, mind and spirit for the worship, knowing that the Bible places importance on worshipping together: “ I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise you.”(Psalm 35:18), and I was looking forward to be teached, to get strenghtened for building the church, and lifting it together with all the others to yet another higher level….. but little did I know that God would use it for many personal issues….
    On the first morning, when Bobbie was talking, I already knew that I couldn’t run away: God was about to do something that I had to wait for, and the next speaker, Judah confirmed that.
    When Joel said that the question was if we were there to be Charged or Changed, I knew it HAD to be the last, but was not yet aware of God going to act on that in a great way, in my own life!
    Saturday, when Christine Cain spoke, God began to show me very shortly, an image of myself standing in a great green meadow, my arms stretched open wide, maybe waiting for God to do something, and suddenly I was all covered by water as clear as glass, as fresh as a cool breeze on a hot summerday, which stayed on my skin for a brief moment, and after that I knew that I was cleansed. When Christine spoke on the subject of adoption, sexual abuse, God showed me that, though sins and people were forgiven, old life was past, some hurt was left behing as a forgotten left-over from the evening’s dinner might be forgotten in the fridge for some days, starting to smell and if not removed, will spoil all that’s in the fridge. While the other speaker was there, Christine came back on the stage, sharing with all of us that the Holy Spirit had showed her that healing was needed for some people and that she wanted to pray there and then. This was the moment where God stepped in, took the hurt and told me that the healing had begun. Desperately at that moment I wanted and needed a hug, but was so overwhelmed, and I felt covered for the moment by a warm, soft mantel so I just continued to listen. However, when we started to move for the lunchbreak, I felt all the hurt leave me, and tears coming up and I broke down, there and then, and sat again, letting my tears run. Sergio, who was near me, laid his hand on me, and I felt in that moment of deep emotions, the so much needed hug I had longed for so many years.
    Coming home, at the shelter where I stay, the welcome hit me by surprise: a collegue jumped in the air when he saw me returning Sunday evening, an other shouted from affar “Hey Hans”, someone else shouted at me as well, and even on this Monday morning my collegues actually FORBID me to work 6 days as AGREED on (!), but I only have to work two days!
    I will never be the same again, and if you ever doubted if you should go: GO to the next conference. For me, my message to you is: Let the healing begin, not just in your life, but in the life of the church, and in the thousands and thousands of lives you meet in the streets of Amsterdam, Holland, or where-ever you are right now!
    Though my thanks go to those who made it able for me to travel to, be at, stay during the conference, above all: “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever, Amen (1 Tim 1:17)

  • Leaders vs. Followers

    10 dec 2007, 22:21 av antonperez

    When leaders make a mistake, they say, "I was wrong."
    When followers make mistakes, they say, "It wasn't my fault."

    A leader works harder than a follower and has more time;
    a follower is always "too busy" to do what is necessary.

    A leader goes through a problem;
    a follower goes around it and never gets past it.

    A leader makes and keeps commitments;
    a follower makes and forgets promises.

    A leader says, "I'm good, but not as good as I ought to be;"
    a follower says, "I'm not as bad as a lot of other people."

    Leaders listen;
    followers just wait until it's their turn to talk.

    Leaders respect those who are superior to them and try to learn something from them;
    followers resent those who are superior to them and try to find chinks in their armor.

    Leaders feel responsible for more than their job;
    followers say, "I only work here."

    A leader says, "There ought to be a better way to do this;"
    followers say, "That's the way it's always been done here."
  • God, my shelter in times of sorrow : Introduction

    19 nov 2007, 11:40 av gospelnl

    It is hard to look back at the past 6 months in Indonesia. I have lived as if in hell, with people not caring about people, and at the same time with my own worries as well. Here you will find my story, not in biographical order. But you will hear about what God did in my life. How He changed things, situations, caracter, anything that seemed lost and impossible, almost hopeless, into hope.
    For that I needed strenght, and thanks to the Cd walkman I got from Linley, I was able to shut the outside world out for a moment, and listen to the Cd of the Planetshakers her son Forrest gave me. Thanks you guys, you blessed me so much! Fall in this place, was the song that inspired me to ask for God's help, for God's Spirit to move not only in my life, but also in that dreadful place I was : Indonesian Immigration, Jakarta, Indonesia
