Why are there so few...

  • Why are there so few...

...women listening to music like fusion?

I know what I like about fusion:
The funky -even wild- drumming with loads of ghost notes, syncopic action and raving rolls.

The playful guitar playing with its great harmonic changes, telling long and twisting storys, making a singer not being missed at all.

The long time it takes (compared to more popular music) to build up and the overall beautiful architecture of this music.

Are these points women generally don't respond to?
    I don't think so.
Women have a far better eye for beauty, rumor has it, so where are they when speaking about fusion?
They like jazz, they like rock, what's wrong with fusion?

I want to watch pornography, but my pornograph is broken
  • Why? Here's why.

Fusion is woman-degrading music as it's in every porn movie ever.
Therefore no self-respecting woman will listen to fusion.

    Prove me wrong fusionettes.

  • Proof

I'm a self-respecting fusionette. Not only do I listen but I oftentimes make it too.

It's really a mistery; i know a few women who enjoy Jazz, heck I even know someone who digs Krautrock! but when it comes to Fusion... it's the ultimate weapon to draw women away from you :P

  • I'm no psychologist, but my theory is that Fusion is a very mathematically-oriented form of music, and women tend to me more emotionally-minded rather than mathematically.

  • I think at some level we are just going to have to admit that maybe Women's and Men's brains are wired in a different way. I firmly believe we sometimes hear certain things differently. Maybe we are more receptive to the twists and turns, abrupt tempo changes, and almost no vocal intervention that Fusion offers us.

I know for a fact that every women but one that I have exposed to a Fusion artist, gets bored after the first listen. And you know, the one that didn't get bored, plays the piano :s
