Five amazing R&B acts will join together on stage at the Mann for a night filled with talent and soul.
Maze featuring Frankie Beverly have worked for nearly 30 years to create a sound that is unique. The group conquered the 80’s with hits like "Travelin' Man," "Feel That You're Feeling," "Joy and Pain," and "Look in Your Eyes,” just to name a few. They have continued to record music, tour internationally and play sold-out shows. Maze continues to attract sold-out audiences and were hailed by The All Music Guide as “the ultimate urban contemporary group, though they're much more soulful and funky than many of their counterparts."
The iconic Patti Labelle is both a Philadelphia native and living legend. Labelle’s voice is in a league of its own and has created such hits as “Lady Marmalade” and a gorgeous cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” In a career that has spanned over 50 years, Labelle has won three Grammys, a World Music Legend award and an American Music Award and has been nominated for dozens of other music, television, and humanitarian awards.
American musical treasures, The O'Jays have secured their place in music history with 24 Top Ten smashes and 59 total charted songs. The O'Jays have earned nine Platinum albums and ten #1 hits including "Back Stabbers," "For The Love Of Money," "Darlin' Darlin' Baby," "Love Train," "I Love Music," "Use Ta Be My Girl"and "Have You Had Your Love Today."
New-jack swing creator Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds has collaborated with musical heavyweights such as Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, and Boyz II Men, writing, producing, and singing on several #1 hits. In 2006, Babyface was honored as a BMI Icon at the 6th annual BMI Urban Awards. Throughout his career, Babyface has won the BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year trophy seven times and has a total of 51 BMI Awards, which includes Song of the Year for his Toni Braxton hit, "Breathe Again," in 1994. The revolutionary label owner is currently at work on a new solo album.
Rounding out this night of true R&B legendary talent, Tank is one of the most recognizable names in modern R&B and is known for vivid storytelling and sensual love songs. He’s an icon in the making, with four albums and eight Grammy nominations under his belt.
