Cafe Szafe zaprasza na koncert akustyczny dwoch muzykow Karl Culley i Hayden Berry z Angli. Oryginalnie i pięknie brzmiące piosenki przywodzące na myśl dokonania takich artystów jak Nick Drake czy Leonard Cohen. Czarują subtelnym klimatem swoich utworów oraz pełnym ekspresji głosem.

Karl Culley
Karl Culley urodził się i wychował w północnej Anglii. Jest piosenkarzem, gitarzystą akustycznym i poetą.Ma na swoim koncie publikacje wierszy. W ubiegłym roku ukazał się jego debiutancki album „Bundle of Nerves”, nagrany w Szkocji na pięknej wyspie Jura w ciągu zaledwie trzech sesji. Karlowi towarzyszyli multiinstrumentalista i producent muzyczny Giles Perring oraz basista Simon Edwards. Płyta spotkała się z przychylnoscią krytyków. Karl inspiruje się twórczością takich muzyków jak: Nick Drake, John Martyn, Bob Dylan, Richard Thompson, Kate Bush, Kelly Joe Phelps czy Paul Simon. Różne wpływy udało mu się.

Pochodzacy z polnocnej Anglii Hayden Berry już od ponad pietnastu lat komponuje i nagrywa piosenki, jak rowniez wystepuje jako wokalista i gitarzysta z autorskim repertuarem. Poczatkowo zwiazany z grupa Ripcord (z która w poznych latach 90tych podpisal umowe z firma fonograficzna Sire Records (Warner Bros.)), obecnie koncertuje jako niezalezny artysta wykonujac swoje nastrojowe akustyczno-folkowe piosenki, inspirowane tworczoscia Boba Dylana, Leonarda Cohena, Tima Buckleya, Nicka Drake'a oraz Neila Younga.

Po rozpadzie grupy Ripcord, który nastapil wkrotce po nagraniu ich debiutanckiego albumu, Hayden nagral w Szwajcarii swoj pierwszy solowy album zatytulowany 'Music from my Mountain'. W kolejnych latach tworzy następne albumy: w roku 2004 'Moving Along', a w 2006 'What do you believe in?'. W roku 2008 Hayden nagrywa 'This Too Will Pass' - czwarty już solowy album, w ktorym do wspolpracy zaprosil wokalistke Terese Lipinski i wiolonczeliste Andy'ego Baily. W albumie tym slychac tez dzwieki waltorni i skrzypiec.

Niedawno zakonczony najnowszy solowy projekt artysty - 'The World And Me', nieco inny w charakterze od poprzednich, dryfuje w strone ambientu i zywszych rytmow. Dzielac swoje życie między Krakowa Wielka Brytanie.

Karl Culley is a fingerstyle acoustic guitarist, songwriter and singer from the North of England. His début album Bundle Of Nerves, recorded on the remote but beautiful Isle Of Jura in Scotland, was released in late 2009 by Triumphant Sound Records and received significant praise from MOJO magazine.

Among Karl's influences are Nick Drake, John Martyn, John Lee Hooker, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Robin Williamson, and Kelly Joe Phelps, but he has somehow distilled his musical inspirations into something uniquely his own delivering an intriguing set of modern-folk, alt-world, skiffle-punk, and dark blues.

Karl's second album The Owl, recorded in Yorkshire, was released in 2011. Karl has gigged extensively at venues and festivals up and down the UK, his songs have been aired on radio and television in England and Poland, and he has provided numerous live sessions and interviews for radio in both countries. Karl is currently recording his third album.

Hayden Berry comes from the north of England and has been writing, recording and performing his own songs for over fifteen years. Having been signed to Warner Bros in the late 1990s, Hayden now writes and performs his own gently crafted acoustic/folk based songs citing Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Tim Buckley, Nick Drake and Neil Young as some of his biggest influences.

Following the recording of Ripcord’s debut album and the subsequent break-up of the band, Hayden recorded his first solo album, Music from My Mountain, in Switzerland. This was followed by Moving Along (2004), What do you Believe In? (2006), and This Too Will Pass (2008), whih were all recorded in Krakow, Poland.

Hayden released his fifth album, The World And Me, in May 2011 on the Krakow-based Preserved Sound label and describes it as being much more "ambiently upbeat".
