----------------------------------------------------------

One of the biggest British indie rock bands of the last decade, The Kooks, bring their energetic and enthralling live show to Singapore for the first time. Performing hits from their debut multi-platinum selling album Inside In/Inside Out, international chart-topper Konk, and their latest release Junk of the Heart. This is a show not to be missed!

Go back five years and their genre-defying debut Inside In/Inside Out proved The Kooks were something special. This was a band who could do brash and breadth, from balladry to wiry, scratchy pop. In 2008, after a prolonged spell of intense touring, came the heavyweight Konk, where The Kinks and the Bunnymen met Bowie, Bolan and The Beat.

Three years after Konk, “Junk Of The Heart” is like a whole new band. Over the last nine months the Kooks have reimagined what it is they do, what they are for and now they seem stronger and happier than ever. Their mission was to move on, to never repeat themselves, and the new record shows they’ve certainly done that. It’s upbeat – its’ an album to play in the sun.

‘Listening to a Kooks record is fun—there really isn’t another word for it. The foursome plays guitar-fueled Britpop for people who still believe that pop music should be raw and doesn’t need any bells and whistles to make you want to dance. In person, watching the Kooks is nothing short of pure joy.’ CMJ

‘A broad musical taste that brings elements of Jack Johnson-styled folk and XTC jerk-pop to their unbridled, youthful joie de vivre.’ Q Magazine

‘An impressive collection of polished pop that leans towards the 1980s English ska tradition while holding tight to the indie holy grail of an easy sing-along chorus against jangly guitars.’ The Guardian
