Guy Chambers’ popular night of 21st century cabaret returns to Floripa with Real Tuesday Weld, Go Sees, Big Deal, Ekaterina Savva, Guy Chambers Experience and DJs Gringo Da Parada and Ross Clarke
Long description: If you haven’t caught the prolific The Real Tuesday Weld (http://tuesdayweld.com) at one of their spectacular live performances, this is your moment. The 30s jazz-influenced absurdist collective fuse electronica with old school swing and our very favourite thing: cabaret. They are purveyors of “antique beat” for the great music halls of London. We are big fans of their hits especially the beautiful Bathtime in Clerkenwell.
Could they be the perfect embodiment of The Orgasmatron and everything it stands for? Quite possibly. Could we be more excited about their imminent appearance? Definitely not.
Joining them will be Orgasmatron favourites Go Sees (http://goseesmusic.tumblr.com/). Prepare for the huge funk/rock/pop noise onslaught from this exceptional all-female band and then come in a little closer to experience the winsome vibes and beautiful melodies of newcomer boy-girl outfit Big Deal, (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/sep/02/first-sight-big-deal) whose fresh sound has already attracted masses of attention from critics and music fans alike.
It wouldn’t be Orgasmatron with a bit of genre-bending so expect some powerful opera courtesy of Ekaterina Savva before Floripa residents DJ Gringo Da Parada and Ross Clarke round off the night with their mixed bag of musical idiosyncrasy. One wearing an apron, of course.
Reflecting Guy’s incredible address book and pedigree past special guests include MARK RONSON, BEVERLY KNIGHT, THE NOISETTES, EXAMPLE, LENNY BEIGE, WILLIAM ORBIT and PALOMA FAITH.
Forget The Box, those in the know are revelling in unique performances and the delightfully unexpected in the Orgasmatron’s suitably colourful home Floripa in Shoreditch.
