Another nerdy night of music and mayhem is upon us on November 20th, as The Laboratory! plays host to our biggest and most varied show yet.
First up, the man, the myth, the legend Rappy McRapperson (RappyMcRapperson.com) will be rockin us with his gangsta rhymes. With a ton of albums under his belt, Rappy has amazed us all with tracks like "Fish Sticks", "My Fanny Pack", "I'm a Gangster" and the chart topper "The Lick Your Own Butthole Party Dance". If we're lucky, we might even get some cuts from The 2nd Best Mixtape Ever, his collaboration with MC Wreckshin of EPP. This set is not one to be missed.
Then, Marc with a C (www.retrolowfi.com) will be performing one of his much talked about sets. With over a decade of music under his belt, this man and his acoustic guitar will charm you over with his pop sensibilities and clever lyrics. Check out his website for free downloads of everything he's done, including his newest single, one of the best, most heartfelt covers of The Bed Intruder song, ever. Seriously.
After that, making their first appearance in Gainesville in WAY to long, Zombies! Organize!! (www.zombiesorganize.com) will be bringing their infectious pop laden zombie hip hop sounds. Last time this 3 piece played Gainesville, the show was amazing, ripping through their female fronted hip hop cuts, and throwing in some covers that have to be heard to believe.
Then, coming back to Gainesville to destroy The Lab again, Orlando's all-star crew of nerdy hip hop, MC Wreckshin, Benjamin Bear, Funky49, Sir-Up and Betty Rebel, collectively known as Scrub Club's own, Emergency Pizza Party (www.emergencypizzaparty.com). Last time they played here was an amazing time, and they've been chomping at the bit to get back. Seriously, high energy, hysterical and hella tight. These guys bring it in their live performance.
All of this can be yours for a measly $4. That's $1 an act. Seriously, you can't go wrong. Doors open at 9, with the host of Gettin' Pixelated on 94.7, Prof. Drew, spinning nerdy sounds in between. This is an all ages show as well. So come out, get some of The Laboratory's legendary nachos, maybe an Arrogant Bastard Stout, and enjoy some awesome music.
