Sitting with a nice cup of tea trying to shale of a nasty cold today, day of work gives me a bit of time to browse through the latest pile of records...

Wojtek Godzisz used to be with fresh faced indie power poppers Symposium waaaaay back when. My first record player stereo had the bands sticker on its lid - a heat powered sticker mind, that you could only see when you popped a nice warm mug of tea on. I had, of course, forgotten all this when I bought the single; picked it up cus the name rang a bell and the cover is pretty and the tracks sound twee and psyche-folky. Not the case! The Moon And The Yew Tree is no folk push over. It is rock. Although the first few bars give nothing away they soon get ripped open to bring on some rock. But there IS a folk underbelly to this beast but its heavily covered with Wheezer baselines, grizzly singing and Foo Fighters/Biffy Clyro lovability. Good stuff I say. Time for a Symposium re-evaluation? Hmmm... I'll leave that for the time being if its ok with you...
