    Sounds like Quorthon denied influence due to some animosity between the two bands. Understandable, but still, if Bathory weren't influenced by Venom then that's one huge fucking coincidence.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JwgORSPhQY Venom influences are all over the place, since this debut was released on 1984, I can't really agree with Quorthon, he was definitely influenced by the first two Venom albums and their styles. but he was a pioneer himself nonetheless and created his own sound which further shaped the second wave of BM.

    v Again, debatable if you are putting Bathory in the "any single extreme metal band" sack. For me it is hard to believe venom didn't influence bathory at all, I mean, it seems pretty obvious, but for some reason Quorthon always denied any influence of venom in his work.
