Hailing from Austin, Texas, Ume is Lauren Larson (Vocals, Guitar), Eric Larson (Bass), and Rachel Fuhrer (drums). The trio's music is one of beautiful juxtapositions: the loud and soft, the aggressive and eerie, buoyant melodies bursting through wall-of-noise dissonance. Ume explores the artier, heavier side of indie rock, post-punk, and alternative rock.     Great band! I understand the Metric comparison, I like both bands. Ume is a bit less polished than Metric's recent material, and that is a good thing.

    I get the Metric comparison since Lauren's voice is a bit similar to Emily's....but Ume's overall sound is SO much more kick ass. Love the guitar work...would love to see them live. Thanks Tony Bourdain. I only wish he'd spent more time with Ume than with friggin' Sleigh Bells...
