Jason Andrew Molina aka Jason Molina (December 16, 1973 – March 16, 2013) was an American musician and singer-songwriter, originally from Lorain, Ohio. He came to prominence performing and recording as Songs: Ohia, both in solo projects and with a rotating cast of musicians. Since 2003, he had recorded either under his own name or with a stable line-up of band members as the Magnolia Electric Co.

  • yeah his voice was amazing, thats for sure.. the only one in the similar genres to compete would be elliott smith, if you ask me that is.. but he's of course dead too..
  • ...and i must be honest -- not sure from where that "average voice" come from...his voice is one of the most powerful and effective voices in this whole folk/indie/alt-country/singer-songwriters etc. genre...(i should say - imho)

  • Average, I'm currently listening to "Boys" and I am struck by the power of his voice...
  • Jason's voice was... well... average. And yet he could bring so much emotion in his music. Alcoholism took him far too soon, pity, pity :(
