Okay, everyone just disregard this story because it's long and stupid and I'm just saying it here because I don't have anyone else to tell. I avoided this song for the longest time because it had "Christmas" in the title and I assumed it was a Christmas song (stupid I know) but I was falling in love with Slow Club and decided that I had to hear it anyway. SO GLAD I DID. There aren't words for how much I adore this song. Also, just now as I saw the "Chuck" tag and the comments about people finding this song from Chuck, I recalled watching an episode at a friend's place way back when I didn't even know what Slow Club was and hearing a song I really liked, but not managing to find out what it was called. Wondered if it might be this. IT IS. <3
I absolutely love Christmas TV. I too heard it for the first time on Chuck, so I really hope the show doesn't get cancelled now, because if it does, I think I'm going to burst into tears every time I listen to this song.
From pretty much out of nowhere, this song will forever have a special place in the hearts of my fiancee and myself. She's in the US, and I'm in England; we were listening to it together and both agreed it was wonderful. So many of the lyrics seemed so very close to our experience of being apart. Then, her phone rang and, after almost a year of uncertainty, she was told she had her visa and was free to come to England to marry me. She'll arrive on Christmas Eve. Perfect, no? Beautiful song <3.
This is perfect... so perfect... seeing as the love of my life is still in UK while I'm stuck at uni in the USA, and I get to go back to him for Christmas and New Years before I have to leave again...
It's brutal... it's brutal... it's brutal can't you see... <3
