  • So good
  • "It's alright, and works as a B-side on a single, but a weak inclusion as an album track." Funny, considering it's my most played SP track. Yeah, it's made up from remains of Rivers and Choralone, but it's still nicely done and better than those two tracks IMO. I don't agree that the second half of the album is weak. Sure, if you expect to hear songs with verse/chorus all the way you'd be disappointed, but this album is more about soundscapes and different emotions. It's ugly and beautiful at the same time. The weakest track on LR would be Killing Game by the way, I always found it kinda boring.
  • Beautiful.
  • No no no. How can you say that Circustance and Left Hand Shake are tracks "just rushed to meet the deadline?" What are you basing that on? Sure, the mood of the latter half of the album is radically different after Inquisition, but similar enough to see that they're on the same album. Maybe it doesn't have the same constant power as Too Dark Park, but then again it's another album, and judging one album on the merits of another will always disappoint. There is a clear progression in this album, a decline, not in musical ability, but in mood, and sound structure. If the music seems to decline in "quality", it works for an album called "Last Rights". I see it as a death album, and when people die, there tends to be a decline.
  • Meh. Just a rehashed reworking of [track artist=skinny puppy]Rivers[/track]/[track artist=skinny puppy]Choralone[/track] from the [album artist=skinny puppy]Rabies[/album] album. It's alright, and works as a B-side on a single, but a weak inclusion as an album track. The first half of this album is so strong, but after [track artist=skinny puppy]Inquisition[/track] the rest of the tracks are just evidence that the album was rushed to meet the deadline. Sorry, they don't get a free pass just because they're Skinny Puppy. If anything expectations were even higher because of the excellent singles ([album artist=skinny puppy]Tormentor[/album] & [album artist=skinny puppy]Spasmolytic[/album]) that were released between the two albums. This was the sign that things were about to fall apart and Nettwerk was about through working with them. I recall fans being so disappointed with the latter half of this album when it was originally released.
  • Stunning. This whole album is the band as the height of their power.
