In regards to Stay What You Are I don't really share the same enthusiasm for it than I do Can't Slow Down and Through Being Cool I hardly ever listen to it. I think all the hype was over a how they were able to put pop hooks and catchy choruses in emo songs, you know that whole 3rd wave whatever shit. It's an okay album, they were able to shed their whole "Jersey's Second Best Dancers" image but I guess in retrospect being a decent Lifetime knockoff band is far better than whatever image they have now, smh.
the Through Being Cool show was a pathetic display. Chris and whatever dudes he's hired to keep up the charade are bullshit in the entertainment department. Massively disappointed with what this band has become
Not sure what the hype has always been about SWYA. It's highly influential, but it's not even close to their best. 4th or 5th for me. CSD, TBC, and In Reverie are definitely better imo. And I'd say Under The Boards is about on par with it. The only album I don't think is great is Sound The Alarm.
Some of the best damn lyrics you'll ever come across. When Saves finally decide to call it quits I hope Chris can get work as a lyricist for some popular artists or at least teach it. Because they could sure use it.
