  • Amen, scottmclemore! The album Sunrise with Masabumi Kikuchi and Thomas Morgan was one of Motian's final sessions and is one of the best releases of 2012.
  • This is one of the most beautiful tributes I've ever read, written by John Rogers, Paul's friend and ECM photographer. http://www.npr.org/blogs/ablogsupreme/2011/11/23/142680423/dinners-and-drum-music-a-friendship-with-paul-motian#more
  • ohhh it's Awfully... Thank you so much, Paul.
  • One of the most amazing musicians and artists of our time. RIP.
  • We were lucky, so lucky, to have him around as long as we did. The wealth of recordings he left us with will be enjoyed for as long as people have ears. He gave and gave. What an incredible soul. An example to all musicians.
  • R.I.P.
  • His final gig was with my good friend Anat Fort: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=P_W_Z1F_Njg
