  • This one's certainly not my favorite Melvins album what with all the cover songs and guest appearances and so on, but it's pretty solid throughout. "Blockbuster" improves on the original Jesus Lizard version thanks to a more unhinged vocal from David Yow and the presence of a real drummer.
  • I think as a whole album, it's weak. But, it's a good shuffle album.. Most Melvins albums kind of have a common theme, this is more like a mix tape. There's nothing wrong with that, it just seems bloated to me. Divorced, The Man With The Laughing Hand Is Dead, Okie From Muskogee, and Ramblin' Man are all pretty great though!
  • hilariously awesome !
  • The version of Blockbuster on here is fantastic, and even if it is a little hit and miss, most of the album is pretty great. Ramblin' Man is another highlight, and a really pleasant surprise. "I assume the pairing of the 70's pop singer and the teen rebellion anthem was supposed to be ironic" [2]. Not to say they didn't genuinely want to do the song, but it would be very Melvins to include a track simply as an ironic joke.
  • I think it's great! The Yow tracks especially. Well, minus the Foetus track, I am really unimpressed by that one.
  • Seriously, what the heck? Even out of the trilogy context (although you shouldn't really take it out of such) it's a great album. If you don't like it because it didn't match your expectations, you just don't get the Melvins. 'Cause with them you should never really set any expectations.
  • I'm not believing this album really exists
  • I love a lot of the songs from this album. Good closer for the trilogy imo.
  • Strangely this was the first Melvins album I bought. Not a great introduction. It's not exactly very coherent as a whole. I don't listen to the whole album much. Ramblin' Man, GI Joe, Mine Is No Disgrace, Spineless and Divorced are all great tracks though. There are at least 10 Melvins albums that are better than this... It's not bad, It's just not what I'm gonna pick when I feel like listening to the Melvins. Bootlicker & Maggot are amazing though.
  • shit sounds exactly like the nirvana one and therefore i am uninterested
