Mario Lanza (Alfredo Arnold Cocozza) nasceu aos 31 de janeiro de 1921 na Filadélfia, filho de imigrantes italianos e morreu em Roma, aos 7 de outubro de 1959.

Pode-se considera-lo como um fenômeno da música no século XX, excepcionalmente nos anos de 1940 e 1950. Um magnífico tenor spinto com uma coloração belíssima e dono de uma potência extraordinária que lhe deram um timbre característico.   • Agree with Animal, I have a big sweet crush on Lanza's voice plus his way of not limiting himself to strict opera...but Caruso is hands down the greatest in talent and innovative for taking full advantage of the latest technology during his time. (at least to me - I'm not an expert).
