Latifa Arfaoui
Latifa Bint Alayah Al Arfaoui, better known as Latifa Arfaoui (also written as Latifa Arfawy), or simple Latifa, is an arabic pop music singer, born in 1961 in Tounisia, an arab country situated in northern africa.
In her most recent career, her music style can be considered as arabic pop, soft pop or pop, although some of her musics could be tagged as arabic rock, soft rock or rock. In the past she has recorded more traditional arabic music, for example of the music genre "tarab".
Because of the album Ma Etrohsh Ba'ed ("Don't go away"), Latifa won the World Music Award 2004 for best selling artist in the Middle East and North Africa.
Latifa is simply awesome, because of her great voice and her musical repertoire (from muslim and arab composers, unknown to westerners), and also for her beauty and exotic charm.
