In which I talk about: Merch, people, and, of course, the Mother Monster herself.
I don't consider myself a die hard fan of Lady Gaga; in fact, sometimes I find I grimace a little when I look at my last.fm page and see how many plays she has in comparison to the rest of my top artists. However, when I learned last March that she would be playing here in St. Paul, I was going through a phase where I was binging on The Fame Monster and absolutely HAD to buy tickets to her show.
I prepared by watching countless Youtube videos of her other Monster Ball performances so as to calm my nerves that the $200 I shelled on tickets wouldn't be a complete waste, and as a result I felt as though I knew what to expect. I was wrong.
Getting to the venue was relatively easy. Fortunately our tickets weren't GA so we showed up when doors opened and were able to get inside relatively painlessly. I decided to go buy a t-shirt and unless whoever is in charge of merch has a personal grudge against Minnesotans…
