  • J. cope come to southamerica! please
  • i've missed out badly
  • My review of An Audience With Julian Cope at Liverpool's Unity Theatre last week:
  • He was on fine form at Primavera. Sleeping Gas! I also hope the great "Cunts Can Fuck Off" song gets a proper release at some point in the future.
  • "however, seminal music writer" LOL
  • someone with 1,000 st. vincent plays wants to talk about ideas falling flat
  • Cope playing Primavera this year is just awesome.
  • V "always" hahaha. This coming from someone who has less than one album scrobbled to his library. I don't believe for a second you have any experience of listening to Julian Cope beyond that, besides probably a couple of youtube clicks, so any attempts at furnishing us with some kind of critique on someone who has done everything from singing pop songs on TOTP to creating hour long psychedelic mantras, to writing protest albums, to forming furious garage rock side-bands is comically worthless. Cope being influenced by Krautrock is not 'syncretic' in any shape -- I am assuming you only wished to use that word in a sentence to show you know it; it was a natural evolution and it resulted in his most critically popular album. The cliche of "I don't like Cope's music (eg. it isn't cool to listen to him and he isn't acknowledged by Pitchfork, so I haven't done so) but I think he's a fantastic writer because I pretend to like Les Rallizes Dénudés now" is very played out from the sheep squad.
