Nov 21 2011, 18h15 por no_conclusionJennifer Juniper Stratford made a few videos with Geneva Jacuzzi, all for tracks taken from last year’s Lamaze. You can still get Lamaze from Vinyl International. Here’s the video for ‘Do I Sad’, watch the other videos here.

Dez 28 2010, 16h30 por no_conclusionIn no particular order. Well, somewhat particular at least. Fever Ray made things easy in 2009, this year was more of a struggle. There was a lot of good records, but none that I really felt were leaps and bounds ahead of the others. Still, there were some that stood out. Joanna Newsom, for one, with her triple (!) LP (and without a track to spare) or Caribou’s Arthur Russell influenced LP. Two excellent minimal synth compilations were also on heavy rotation this year… And the list goes on. Here are some records we listened to the most this year.
> Joanna Newsom: Have One on Me
> Darkstar: North
> Caribou: Swim
> Flying Lotus: Cosmogramma
> Four Tet: There Is Love in You
> Pantha du Prince: Black Noise
> Future Islands: In Evening Air
> Broken Water: Whet
> Robyn: Body Talk
> High Places: High Places vs. Mankind
> Emeralds: Does it Look Like I’m Here?
> Crystal Castles: Crystal Castles II

2010 was an undeniably great year for music. There was the birth of \\/\\/|†©|•| |•|Ωµ§∑ genre (oh, having troubles reading that? No worries, that just means you're not cool enough for the Wi†ch House standards. Get on the b∆ndw∆gon, all you non-▼ n00bz). Nicki Minaj fiiinally got recognition she rightfully deserves; after all, she IS the best female MC, not to mention the fact that she's, just, like, out there, with that in-your-face style, and that 15 year old, gay, Brazillian boys with their shirtless pics as their Last.fm avatars cream on her fashion sense and her general wackiness. Then, there was Ke$ha's rise to fame and her claiming the top spot on Last.fm's Best of 2010 list. I just love that dirty ol' poetic $lut.
Now, on a serious note, this was genuinely a very, very good year for music in general. Loads of great albums, some brilliant new artists emerged, some utterly amazing covers and songs…
