Tue 15 May – Duke Special, Beth Rowley gig review. I have to say what a huge pleasure it is to see Duke Special in a large venue at last!

Before the gig started, the pre-gig music was supplied by DJ78, playing lovely old early Rock and Roll, Jazz and I guess it's called Easy Listening stuff all on shellac 78s, which i just lapped up!

There was too much going on for me to record it all (there always seems to be at Duke gigs), but I'll try to pick out the highlights. Although I think most of the vening was one long highlight.

Brixton Leaves, as ever, sounded amazing. It was great to hear an old favourite like Don't Breathe - don't think I've heard this played for ages, if at all. I loved the crowd singing, especially on Last Night I Nearly Died and Portrait (I…
