Jun 16 2012, 4h19 por colmulletI was never into music in a big way until a few years ago when my health went downhill and i had to take an extended break from work and study....so i needed a hobby of sorts, something to pass the time and to stop me from going insane with boredom and music was that something. Over the last few years i have listened to more music than i care to imagine, getting into all different styles that i never thought i would get any enjoyment from and compiling a playlist which i dare say will be played daily on album shuffle for the rest of my days. Changes will probably be made as albums i once like become something i dislike and so forth so this list will probably change over time. List is in alphabetical order:
Abigail's Ghost - D_Letion (Progressive Rock)
Abigail's Ghost - Selling Insincerity (Progressive Rock)
Abydos - Abydos: The Little Boy's Heavy Mental Opera Show (Progressive Rock)
Addaura - Demo 2010 (Atmospheric Black Metal)
Aeon Spoke - Aeon Spoke (Alternative Rock)
AFI - Sing the Sorrow (Punk)

Mar 7 2011, 23h38 por PhilipRiversI really hate the rain.
I used to love the rain when I was little. I used to live in Palm Desert, so it was almost a novelty in a way, and better yet reprieve from the scorching summers that spanned from April to October. Rain was fantastic when it was an occasional thing, something that gave you an excuse to be insular and spend a day playing video games and lazing around.
Now, of course, the rain has come with uncommon frequency this year. Maybe it simply doesn't like me - at a time in my life when I want to be out and about, I'm forced to wear jackets that look out of place in Southern California, freezing on my skinny frame and praying for brighter days. I'm terrified about the future and have had nothing but problems with girls and friends, and I want nothing more than a day to go to the beach and get a tan.
At least I have an excuse to listen to music.
Defeater's new album is pretty good. It's no Travels, but the story is the same one from their previous album told through…

Nov 17 2010, 3h21 por Jetfuel495So I recently started collecting vinyl, and to date I've spent way too much money on the damn stuff. Here's a list of what I have and why I bought it.
Rise Against - Revolutions Per Minute - My favorite album by my favorite band. This record never gets old, and I still jam out to it frequently.
Rise Against - Rise Against - Limited edition 7" that was released on Fat Wreck Chords. Oldschool-esque Rise Against. Only 1,010 of these were released on the marble red/white swirl vinyl, which I have.
Parkway Drive - Deep Blue - Preordered it the day after sales went up, got the limited edition clear blue vinyl. Only 500 of those in the world.
Defeater - Lost Ground - Fantastic EP from quite possibly my favorite hardcore band. I have the limited red/white/blue swirl double 7", only 500 of those were pressed.
At the Gates - Purgatory Unleashed - Live album from AtG's farewell tour. That's reason enough to buy it. I have the black/green split edition, only 100 of those pressed.
