also agree it's amazing how his range is so large but so identifiable. One thing is that, and this is how I found myself checking out his music, he's strongly inspired by jazz fusion bands like T-Square. It can be heard even in a lot of tracks you wouldn't expect.. But in fact there are several other composers (Atsushi, Tsuchiya, so on) who are all basically just as excellent. Arena's soundtrack is ridiculously good. I'd like to see more hints of DDS or Nocturne mixing in with the more recent wave of P3 and P4 styles which are quite distinct in themselves.
I figured these would be merged but upon checking, that's not the case. I'll continue to scrobble Shoji Meguro as long as I don't forget as it has nearly all of my plays but it really should be corrected to this.
Awesome artist. I really like it how he mixes different genres and can do everything, from commerical music (tanaka's theme from p3-p4 and JUNES from p4) to electro-rock to rap/hip-hop to orchestral/symphonic songs to pop and so on and so on..
Just like the description says "Although his works feature a trademark rock style, Meguro experiments with different musical genres, such as orchestral, electronica, jazz, rap, RnB and hip hop from soundtrack to soundtrack."
Master of the battle themes;) Seriously, this man produce such amazing battle themes. I remember when I've first heard the battle theme of DDS1 (my first SMT game)..this track just blew me away^^ Dont have to mention, that his other tracks're also amazing;] (music from the Velvet room <3). Genius. Btw. I'm currently playing Persona 4, such a great game^^.....but instead of this, I should be writing my master's thesis:/
