Southern Belgian occult quartet. Twisted atmospheres blended with forgotten tales of witchcraft rituals. Ignobilis Ritae : A call upon the women burnt on the pyre...a requiem for those who burn.

Reorganization is complete for Professor Longhair. The turnover was quite high: 106 of the 200 artists in the connections were replaced, and the music became even more strongly influenced by artists known mainly in New Orleans and less familiar to the rest of the country and the world. After the new connections, there were 503 artists on the Artist Radio (as always, dropped connections remain on the radio), after which I added another 43 related artists to round it off at 550 artists. To see the lineup, check ProfessLonghair's library. Enjoy!

The upshot of all this: I don't believe you'll find a similar group anywhere on which is fitting, since the world of Angelo Badalamenti encompassed many strange bedfellows.

Spotted a few errors and had to tear up and redo the connections, replacing 28 of them and beefing the radio up to a deliberate 666 artists... then spotted a few more and went at it again, replacing 30 artists and expanding the radio to 720 artists. The old tag set (for 475 artists) was: soundtrack, indie, instrumental, jazz, lounge, electronic, female vocalist, ambient, ethereal, rock. The new tag set for the 720-artist radio is: electronic, indie, female vocalist, jazz, rock, soundtrack, ambient, oldies, Britpop, Celtic (These are based on the filtered recommendations for the "library bot" threglassdarkly before and after the expansion.).

There were 475 artists already on the Artist Radio, the "dropped" connections remaining on the radio. Of the 125 new connections, only 8 were already present, so I added 117 artists to bring it up to 592, after which I added another 33 related artists to top it off at 625 artists, of which 150 are brand-new. To see the lineup, check ThruGlassDarkly's library. Enjoy our new sounds!

In odd-numbered years, I revamp the connections of nearly all my groups. I see that I did not post anything in 2011 when I redid the connections, but generally it ends up that about one-third of the artists are replaced by other artists, no matter what the group. This year's revision of the L&S connections was quite drastic by comparison: fully 125 of the 200 artists have been rotated (5 out of 8). You can see who has been kept and who is new in the connections: starting at the bottom and reading up, the 75 retained are first, followed by the 125 new in alphabetical order. There are somewhat fewer film & TV composers, and an unexpected influx of Celtic artists. The new connections run the gamut from the learned medieval scholar and psalmist Hildegarde of Bingen to the depraved performance artists Premature Ejaculation. Note that no artists are dropped from the Artist Radio (ThruGlassDarkly's library, which only grows larger.

Be the first on your block to join my very newest group: Immortal Rock Vocalists. The connections are based on two rock lists at Top 100 Male Vocalists & Top 100 Female Vocalists. The connections are complete: the radio is still under construction. Place note that you will hear some non-rock on the radio, because this is based on vocalists who may cross over into gospel, soul, funk, pop, and country. The connections are individual artists, but the radio will include any bands or groups they are associated with: in many cases the band is better known than the singer. The lists are the opinion of the authors and are sure to inspire discussion and dissent. Good! Bring your opinions and your own lists and jump into the fray!
