I just installed the unofficial last.fm scrobbler app, but I haven't noticed anything change on my timeline. Do I have to do something special to make a recently listened to box appear like the Spotify one? I want to remove the Spotify box below friends and replace it with a last.fm scrobbler chart.

  • Any tips for those who can't seems to let it work????
I install and uninstall like 20 times

  • The unofficial app is working well here - it just showed up after putting my user name into the settings page

There was a period in which it wasn't working, but it is now. I think the app would be perfect if only it included a link to the last.fm profile v.v

Mine doesn't work. Do you have to do anything special after installing and saving your username?

  • How about retroactively adding all your scrobbles to your timeline?

Adding to the ticker feed and music API is essential but it would cool if it could import your scrobble history to your timeline, assuming its in development.

Ok. No. It is not working, again. Seems they hit some snags.

    really guys? make this happen!

my last.fm account was created many years ago. It's a waste for me to start scrobbling all over again...

would've been cool to see my last.fm history down the timeline at facebook. 2007 i listened a lot to soil for example... u know the meaning of scrobbling! :-D

  • they say it's possible, I hope they import all data soon!

Just started with the un-offical one (for now) and it seems to be working alright so far.

    Wake up LastFM!!!!

  • When I say on Facebook I'm listening to "some great new music/artist", I always get reactions with the questions "what music?", "what artist", "what genre" and such and for over a year now I always share a hyperlink to my profile now when I say this. When I'm @-tagging an artist I always choose the Last.fm result in my posts. But somehow people who don't (yet) use Last.fm aren't to eager to click the link and discover what Last.fm has to offer, due to the missing link with Facebook... At the least sharing scrobbles or bundles of scrobbles would be a nice, simple and easy way to introduce people to the Last.fm services, right?

I get "Why would I create a Last.fm profile if I can't connect it seriously with my Facebook" or similar reactions when I try to get my FB friends and lots of artist friends to use Last.fm to quickly share new and great music. They rather dig themselves ever more deeper into the (somewhat faulty) Facebook universe (creating events, places, using tags, liking artist and such) than use a readily available, easy to use and moderately reliable (I don't agree with the fierce use of MusicBrainz for reasons unnecessary to mention here and now) platform like Last.fm. I bet far more current Facebook-only, non-Last.fm users would take the step to get into Last.fm if it would provide a solid sharing base between the two (and not just a dumb/simple share button that pops up on a track/album/artist page).

"Missing the boat" would be an acceptable way to call LFM's behaviour towards Facebook if you'd ask me. My love for Last.fm overpowers the lack of shareability with Facebook, but aspirant-Last.fm users don't have that same feeling with smething they never used before.

So, please come up with a Timeline/Ticker scrobbler and a simple customizable "scrobble summary posting system" and it would be a great, if not huge, step into the right direction: more Last.fm exposure, more Last.fm users and more possible subscribers. Right?

  • The unofficial Last.fm scrobbler app is reported to be approved by Facebook now (maybe it was in beta stage the last time?)

The interface has changed a bit, and it now works for me (previously I can't, no matter how much I tried). For those who can't get it working, try removing the app and reinstall it.

  • The "Die.socialisten" scrobbler app works, also for Last.fm!

I also installed the unofficial app today and from the first few scrobbles I get likes and comments like a rollercoaster! Fun for me and my friends, but this is also great news for Last.fm. But, 'ey, don't take my word for it, Last.fm has to try it themselves! :)

  • I have nothing new to add but a +1 to these suggestions.

  • +1 from me too.

it should be integrated with facebook's timeline. probably it in the form of top weekly artist. with a thumbnail and a few detail of the artist. like this example from foursquare:

weekly artist is also less noisy and less load for last.fm servers compared to a real-time scrobbling info.

  • Foursquare's fun, let Last.fm be fun too

I seriously think Last.fm could learn a bit from Foursquare about making the use of a service fun and highly interactive by using badges and such. I'm not saying that Last.fm has to be sugar coated for 13-19 year olds, but I think that some basic Last.fm functionality like tagging tracks/artists/albums and voting for the right name and such would be used more/better when there's some kind of (in my opinion useless, but FUN) reward to it... It's a bit off topic here, but I seriously think Last.fm should take itself far less serious with it's services and make it far more fun than it is now for most people (I'm quite cool with it, though).

  • Now would be the time for last.fm to come out with an official Facebook Open Graph app because the one directly from spotify suuuucks. The info on there is always wrong and changes every time i look at it.

+1 for this idea, though I want less of a ticker spammer, more of an integrated box for a week on my timeline

    Come one Last.fm!

    +1 the idea

  • Installed the unofficial one, works okay. Sometimes it's slow in updating, or it grabs songs I haven't listened to in awhile for the 'top spot' but it'll do for now I suppose.

I think last.fm is missing the boat here. :/ They should want to be ahead of others, not playing catch up all the time. But whatever, they have priorities and I guess getting some useful facebook integration isn't high on that list. It's not like anyone uses facebook or anything.

Mine's showing stuff form weeks ago, not updating and showing stuff that shouldn't be there (removed the scrobbles). Not to mention the graphic design turned out horrible.
