Jake Kaufman, also known as virt, is a professional composer and sound designer for video games.
He has released music for free on the internet for over 10 years, and has been involved in many different demo scene groups, net labels, and website communities. He is known primarily for founding the game music arrangement site VGMix.com, for his own arrangements of game music, and for his chiptune work including the FX series. His latest work is Kwakfest, an album of 19 songs created in 60 minutes each during “speed composing parties”.
He also composed the music for the feature length video game movie Press Start and its upcoming sequel, Press Start 2 Continue.
Jake lives in Champaign-Urbana, IL, with his wife Kristi and his dog Nugget, and is a most excellent dude. He is a bad enough dude to rescue the president from ninjas.
