Two Istbones is the solo recording project of SG Benanti, Jr, based in Louisville, KY, USA. It features SG playing guitar, piano, trumpet, and various percussion and found objects, as well as incorporating digital samples, electronic drum loops, and field recordings. The music expresses movement and change, intensity, anxiety, transience and cathartic loneliness.

Two Istbones has released 3 albums and 1 EP since its inception in 2008. The music has largely been composed while traveling, “on the scene” throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan, usually with little more than a guitar and a laptop. Percussion, when not electronic, is improvised, with boots stomping on wood floors in place of bass drums, rocks dropped on desks to imitate snares, jars of rice for shakers, and beer bottles as cowbells.
